At the last PR meeting for Roller Derby, I BEGGED Iona Switchblade to let me make the May poster for the Heroes vs. Villains bout on May 19th.  I struggled with this a lot because it’s out of my normal artistic comfort zone.  Although I enjoy drawing comics, coloring them like this wasn’t something I have a lot of practice with.  It came at the most inopportune time as well; finals and graduation are just around the corner, and I still have a lot of projects to finish up, but I wanted to make it so bad I decided that I would have to make it work!
If you know me, you know that I LOVE comics, so I really enjoyed making this for the league.  Please join us on May 19th for the Heroes vs. Villains bout at Rollerland Skate Center.  At 7pm the doors open and I would really like to see all of you there.  Also, I would love some constructive criticism on the poster whenever anyone gets a chance, I know I have a lot to learn!
Thank you to FocoGirlsGoneDerby for supporting me in this venture, it really means a lot that I was able to create something for the league and learn some new things in the process.  Also, thank you to my husband, Paul, for putting up with me during this hectic time, you’ve been nothing but supportive and wonderful, and thank you to all of my friends who believe in my future.  Yay comics!

Making a logo for Paul’s new project, “inksly.” This is just the rough.
